Lee won his first award for his artwork when he was eight years old for a district-wide competition when his work was placed up against an open-age category for new artists.
At fourteen, he had a weekly comic strip running in the two major newspapers in his hometown. As he always loved to draw an to make people laugh, it seemed a perfect fit.
By the time he was sixteen he began taking on commissions, applied his skills to large-scale wall murals for clubs, cafes and exhibits throughout western Canada. Once the workload of his career and school became too much, he decided to hang up his paint brush for the rest of high school and concentrate on his other favorite medium, pen & ink.
Here's a wild fact. Lee was born legally blind. What is fantastical, absurd, magical or macabre finds it way out of his pen. Lee is now concentrating his efforts of the writing, illustrating, voicing and producing of children's books and CDs under his pseudonym: "Limmerick Grym Pencraft".
