Ahoy, Citizen.
You’ve found yourself at Ink Oink Art Inc, the cardboard treehouse of the net which otherwise known as Kit St. Germain's website. This is primarily a site devoted to my writing, which is fantasy, science fiction and slipstream in various media, including prose, radio plays and screenplays. There are other things on this site too: ferments, weeds and critters. I let them in. And here you are. Welcome, rabbit, welcome. If you’ve come looking for the book Escape Clause, you’ll find it here. If you're not, FYI, it's a book I published in 2008 of other author's work. Due to coming to some of my senses, I won’t be continuing to doing any more work as a publisher. Following Escape Clause, I found I hadn’t written anything except publicity blurbs all year. I’ve had to face that I’m one of raremnoiiiiiiii—sorry, that last word was written by my cat Elektra—one of the rare women, I was saying, who cannot multitask worth a pnue (French word for tire, it just amuses me). I tried to save publishing single-handed. I put on tights and a cape and smacked into a wall known as ‘complete denial of my own nature.’ I'm not managerial in any way. And I hate tights. The crotch always ends up yawning by your knees. Am I a superhero? Pfft. The hell, you say. I’m a cave creature. What I like about writing, is writing. So after I turfed the magnificent delusions, I wrote a pile of radio plays. Then I had a look at what market was available for them and it was basically CBC and BBC and they have their own parameters that narrow the scope quite a lot. Ceeb likes things of regional and newsy topical stuff, -- things far too much like life from where I sit. I want sci-fi. Fantasy. Preposterousness of the most lurid stripe. Reality! Hah! Humbuggery! So here’s me and my website. 'Spose I’ll fill it up... |
